  • Knowledge transfer

Knowledge transfer at the Faculty of Public Administration is the transfer of theoretical and practical knowledge that an individual or group possesses and passes on to another individual or group that needs or will need this knowledge in the future. It is based on professional and life experiences that are important for the individual or group. Its purpose is to help the individual in his or her personal and professional development and to benefit the organization and the wider community.

The content and organizational aspects of the regulation of the area of knowledge transfer at the Faculty of Public Administration, which are presented below, are divided into five content sets, namely:

– knowledge centre,
– centre for the organization of educational events (in regard to the consulting & training centre),
– centre for the networking and organization of social events,
– student centre for acquisition of knowledge and experience,
– centre of coaching and mentoring.

The purpose of the knowledge centre is to combine the activities conducted by the Faculty of Public Administration in the field of knowledge transfer within research activities and on this basis establish new activities that are interesting for the environment and have potential and where the faculty can provide its resources.

  • PROJECTS AND TENDERS FOR KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER (ŠIPK, PKP)

The Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia, on the basis of approved operations co-financed by the European cohesion policy, conducts annual tenders in the field of knowledge transfer between higher education institutions, students and the economic or non-economic sector. The purpose of public tenders is to promote the strengthening of cooperation and integration of the higher education system with the environment (economy/non-economy in the local/regional environment) and implementation of models of open and flexible transition between education and the labour market and local environment.

The projects upgrade the knowledge and competencies of students through established activities, while the provided counselling for target groups within the economy/non-economy also provides a contribution to strengthening long-term cooperation and integrating higher education institutions with the economy/non-economy (local/regional environment).

  • KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER IN THE FORM OF CONSULTING FOR EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS

Implementation of consulting activities for the purpose of marketing services and raising the profile of the Faculty of Public Administration. It is conducted by pedagogues and professional associates and is intended for external organizations.

The FU Counselling and Education Centre believes that appropriate knowledge and skills are the key tools for achieving the desired results. The SIC thus offers and prepares a set of current educational events developed by our experts for the interested public, in order to help participants or their organization towards success and efficiency. Trainings are based on interactive and practical approaches that enable the rapid consolidation of newly acquired knowledge.

  • SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS FOR EXTERNAL PARTNERS

The contents of seminars and workshops in the SIC are organized based on the needs and wants of interested organizations.

The Faculty of Public Administration has been cooperating with the Administrative Academy of the Ministry of Public Administration for many years. This cooperation is based on contracts concluded between the Ministry and the Faculty, namely in various areas of training of public sector employees.

The purpose of such events is to organize an environment in which students can find and acquire new knowledge and information and establish contact with future employers. It is also important to inspire students to think differently and to become “change-makers” who shape their own future by developing themselves appropriately personally and professionally.

The purpose of the student centre for acquiring knowledge and experience is based on the fact that students acquire relevant knowledge and experience in practice. The Faculty of Public Administration helps them with this by organizing activities, processes and events.

  • STUDENT INTERNSHIP

The student internship is an activity that involves a large number of actors, namely mentors from the Faculty of Public Administration, mentors from organizations where students do internships, faculty students and professional staff at the Faculty of Public Administration.

  • TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CONTACTS AT BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS BETWEEN INFLUENT DECISION MAKERS IN SLOVENIA AND ABROAD WITH THE BEST STUDENTS WITHIN THE FACULTY

It regards the concept of a business event within a relaxed environment where we host a main guest who represents a prominent name in the economic, business, political, international or other sphere. In the conversation with the participants, the main guest shares practical experiences and advice and establishes contact and possible cooperation with the students. The purpose of establishing such a concept is mainly related to enabling successful students to establish contact with important and influential decision-makers in Slovenia and abroad. Due to this as well as to the very nature of the event, business informal socializing events are where the best first personal interaction of promising FU students with renowned representatives of business and social circles is made possible.
