The following regulations apply to Erasmus and other exchange students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the Republic of Slovenia.

How to become a member of our library?

On your first visit to the library you have to:

submit a valid identification document (personal identity card or passport) and a student card, an index or a certificate of registration,
submit your completed and signed user registration form to the librarian at the reference desk. The application form can also be printed in the library,
please choose your membership fee from the pricelist,
within your student card you are allowed to access all library resources. You may read and borrow books, journals and non-book materials, use the computers, search the internet and access various international bibliographic online databases.

Please inform us if you:

change your address (so that we can update your user record),
lose your student card,
forget your username and password for the digital library and Cobiss/Opac

Students of University of Ljubljana with status can also register online using their digital student identity.

Library users can find the literature in the local library catalogue. It is possible to make reservation of the material, up to a maximum of 3 units of material.

Material in the library is organised by the principle of free access. Library users find the material in the FA Catalogue, note the signature and find the material on the shelf.

Monograph publications can be lent for 21 days, textbooks for 14 days and serial publications of previous years for 7 days, with the option of extending three times, under the condition that the material has not been reserved.

Serial publications – current year, reference material (dictionaries, manuals) and diploma theses are reading room material and cannot be lent for home use. In the event of borrowing, the reading room material must be returned on the same day.

Extending, ordering and reserving material is possible in person at the library, by telephone (+386 1 5805 583), by e-mail (knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si) or via My Library (the password is given at the library).

With the month of June 2021, it is possible to loan library materials also through the system of delivery boxes (paketniki) for independent collection of library materials. The delivery boxes are located at the main entrance of the faculty.

The service is intended primarily for users who cannot download the materials while the library is open. You are able to pick up the material, that you have previously reserved via the COBISS system, 24 hours a day in the delivery box. In this case, you must inform us by e-mail knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si that you want to pick up the reserved material in the delivery box and add your mobile phone number.

When the library material is ready, we will send a message to your mobile phone number with instructions for downloading the material. You will be able to open the delivery box using the Direct4.me application (Direct4.me), downloaded to your phone, or by calling the phone number written in the SMS message.

Instructions for using the portal or Direct4.me app are listed on the delivery boxes, you can download the application to your mobile phone in Google Play or the App Store online store.

We conduct interlibrary loan for professional material that we do not have in our collections. We also accept orders for books, articles, individual issues of journals, dissertations, master’s and specialist theses, and audiovisual material.

The service is intended only for active members of the library and is payable in accordance with the valid price list.

All orders for interlibrary loan are accepted by e-mail (knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si). In the borrowing order, it is necessary to state the exact details of the material you want to order with an annotation that the costs of interlibrary loan will be paid at the time of receiving the material.

The approximate delivery time of material from other Slovenian libraries is up to 7 days, and from foreign libraries up to 21 days.
