Master's Study Programme in "Administration"

         

International accreditation - EAPAA

At its 18th session of 12 December 2005, the Senate of the Faculty of Administration adopted a decision to start the procedures necessary for the International Accreditation of the Faculty of Administration's Master's Study Programme of "Administration" - level II with the EAPAA (European Association for Public Administration Accreditation, Enschede, and the Netherlands).

According to the regulations of EAPAA the Faculty of Administration prepared the self-evaluation report of Master's Study Programme of Administration during the year 2007 and organized the site-visit of the Accreditation Committee of EAPAA which was held on 20-22nd May in Ljubljana. The members of the Accreditation Committee of EAPAA were:

  • professor Gyorgy Jenei, Hungary, Corvinus University of Budapest, Faculty of Economics; Department of Public Policy and Management
  • professor Theo van der Krogt, School of Management and Governance, University of Twente
  • professor Christoph Reichard, Germany, Universität Potsdam, Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftliche Fakultät.

The accreditation process of the Master's Study Programme of "Public Administration" - level II was successfully concluded in September 2008. 

Accreditation at the European level represents recognition of the programme's quality. In this way, the study programme will become more interesting for both Slovenian and international public.

The Master's Study Programme in "Administration" - II. level strives to follow contemporary developments and trends in administrative systems within which, in addition to the concepts of "New Public Management", the principles of management, economics, organisation and informatics of the public sector are gaining in importance, as they form the superstructure of administrative law. The study programme offers students skills for in-depth independent research work and autonomous solving of complex expert and scientific issues.

The first part of the course syllabus is comprised of compulsory and general subjects while the second is divided into three programmes: the administrative-legal, administrative-economic and administrative-information programmes which enable students to obtain detailed knowledge of narrow, select areas either due to already acquired practical experience or for the purpose of planned future occupation.
