Use of library premises (membership not required). We offer you a quiet and pleasant place for study and work. The majority of the library material is on open shelves to which users have free access. There are 35 reading places and 4 computers, as well as e-readers.
Access to online information resources (membership not required). In the library you can access online information resources and the most important international bibliographic databases. Students of the University of Ljubljana access online resources and databases via remote access (from any location in the world). To access the UL Digital Library, students must be members of the library of their faculty.
Joining the library. All the details on enrolment and online enrolment can be found here.
Reservation. We offer the possibility of reservation, a maximum of 3 units of material.
Loans. Library members can borrow literature and take it home or to the reading room. You can find the material in the COBISS+ system beforehand.
Delivery box loans. We also offer the option to pick up reserved materials from a self-service locker (delivery box), allowing for independent collection of library materials even outside the library’s operating hours.
Interlibrary loan. If the material you need is not available in our library, we can provide it via interlibrary loan.
Reference services. We help you find the material you need and also make thematic inquiries.
Education in the library. We run educational courses for the needs of information literacy of users.
Bibliographies. We create bibliographies for our researchers and other users.
Literary Circle. We hold meetings of the Literary Circle (only in Slovenian language). The Literary Circle is one of the extracurricular activities organised by The Centre For Development Of Pedagogical Excellence. Each academic year, we hold four meetings where we discuss a selected literary work.
Sale of textbooks. In the library we sell printed textbooks for students of our faculty (printed material). You can pay in cash or by credit card. Printed publications can also be purchased through the University of Ljubljana Publishing House online bookstore. E-study materials are available for a fee to students in the Faculty of Administration library or can be purchased through the Beletrnia Digital portal and borrowed through Cobiss Ela. You pay at the borrowing desk and receive the material immediately by e-mail.
Modra polica (Blue shelf). The Modra polica project is intended to increase the reading culture among employees and students. You can bring books you no longer need on the library shelf at any time and replace them with others.
Building a library collection. We provide for our library collection and ensure that the most up-to-date professional material is always available. Any proposals on the material for our collection can be submitted to knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si. Please provide the following information about the proposed material: author(s), title, year of publication, publisher.
