The Ethics Committee is an advisory body that accepts applications for ethical review of research tasks and projects as well as final theses of the Faculty of Administration. Ethical review is generally required for research involving human subjects or collecting personal data on an individual’s behavior in an environment where privacy can reasonably be expected, and data that can be expected not to be publicly disclosed. The exact scope of ethical review is determined based on the specific characteristics of each research project.
The Committee may also consider matters within its scope of activity on the basis of a decision taken on its own initiative, but it does not consider applications from employees and students (hereinafter: applicants) of other members of the University of Ljubljana or external institutions.
Based on the nature of the ethical review, the committee distinguishes between three types of applications: research that (a) does not require ethical review, (b) research with minimal risk, and (c) research that exceeds minimal risk.
