Erasmus+ Short-Term Doctoral Mobility
This call is open to doctoral students who will carry out their short-term Erasmus+ mobility abroad for study or traineeship between 1 June 2025 and 30 June 2026.

Objectives of the mobility:

Meeting the diverse learning and training needs of doctoral students;

Improving learning and research skills;
-
Increasing employability and career opportunities;
-
Fostering self-initiative and entrepreneurship;
-
Strengthening cooperation between higher education and research institutions;
-
Improving foreign language proficiency;
-
Enhancing intercultural awareness;
-
Increasing familiarity with EU projects and values;
-
Boosting motivation for further (formal and informal) education and training after the mobility.
Short-term study mobility
Doctoral students can carry out study mobility at institutions with which the University of Ljubljana or the Faculty of Public Administration has signed an inter-institutional agreement. The mobility must be an integral part of the student’s third-cycle academic programme. It may also include a traineeship, creating synergies between academic and professional experience abroad.

Short-term traineeship mobility
Traineeships can be carried out in research institutes, laboratories, companies, or any other appropriate workplace in Erasmus+ programme countries. This includes:

Teaching assistantships,

Research assistantships,
-
Activities in Horizon Europe-funded projects (with no double EU funding).
📌 Minimum workload: 25 hours per week
Blended mobility
Short-term mobility can also be blended – combining physical mobility (5–30 days) with a virtual component (up to 12 months).
❗The virtual part is not funded.
Participation in conferences is not eligible under this call.
Who can apply?
This call is open to UL doctoral students who:

Are enrolled in a third-cycle programme during the mobility;

In the case of traineeships, also those who apply before graduation and complete mobility within one year of finishing their studies.
Students with unresolved Erasmus+ financial obligations are not eligible.
Duration of mobility

Physical mobility: minimum 5 consecutive days, maximum 30 days

May be combined with virtual mobility (total not exceeding 12 months)
-
Total mobility within the third cycle must not exceed 12 months
📌 Mobility cannot be conducted in:
-
Slovenia,
-
The country of citizenship,
-
The country of permanent residence.
The student must reside in the host city abroad for the full mobility period.
OLS – Online Language Test
Students going abroad for 15 days or more (except native speakers) must complete an online language test via the OLS portal before and after mobility.
Erasmus+ Grant
📌 Grants are not automatic. Students must apply via the UL VIS portal and sign the Erasmus+ Grant Agreement prior to departure.
Grant amounts:
Mobility duration | Daily grant | One-time top-up for students with fewer opportunities |

Up to and including 14 days | €79/day | €100 |
From 15 to 30 days | €56/day | €150 |
One travel day before and after the activity may also be covered.
Additional support may be available for:

Students with fewer opportunities (e.g. recipients of social benefits),

Green travel (€50 lump sum + extra travel days),
-
Special needs students (with separate application).
