The following topics will be presented:

- Choosing the appropriate methodology – qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods;
- Data collection of qualitative data;
- Data collection of quantitative data – survey methodology;
- Multivariate analysis;
- Categorical data analysis;
- Network analysis;
- Bibliometric analysis;
- Simulation methods for statistical research;
- Time series;
- Data mining;
- Text mining;
- Applications of statistical approaches and methods in administration.
Objectives and competences
The object of the course is to give an overview of some of contemporary fields of statistics, that are useful in the methodological and statistical part of the doctoral theses. The lectures will be given by local and foreign experts in each selected field.
Competences:
- in-depth understanding of theoretical concepts od administrative science and ability to transfer knowledge into practice,
- ability of thorough, critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of complex ideas,
- capacity for independent construction of new knowledge, skills, techniques and practices through research work.
