- How do I join the library?
Anyone who fills out the Admission Statement, submits a student ID card and pays the membership fee in accordance with the valid price list can enrol in the Faculty of Public Administration Library. - Can I borrow material without a membership card?
No. Users are obligated to submit their membership card in order to borrow material (students submit their student ID card or an enrolment certificate). - Must I search for the books in the library by myself?
Yes, in principle. The Faculty of Public Administration Library provides its users with free access. Users thus look up the relevant material by themselves in the local library catalogue, check the location of the material (call number) and find the material on the shelf. In the event of problems, they can turn to the library staff. - How many units of material can I borrow?
The Faculty of Public Administration Library does not limit the number of units of material one can borrow. - How long can I keep the borrowed material at home?
You can borrow books for 21 days, textbooks of the Faculty of Public Administration for 14 days and periodical publications for 7 days.
The only exception is the material that can only be lent to the reading room (so-called reading room material). It comprises:
-magazines
-magazines and newspapers of the current year,
-undergraduate theses,
-archival material,
reference material (dictionaries, encyclopaedias, lexicons, atlases …).
- Is overdue fee charged for every day of the year?
No. The overdue fee is charged only for the days when the library is open. The overdue fee is not charged during holidays, on Saturdays and Sundays and during collective holidays of the Faculty of Public Administration. - When do you send the 1st reminder?
The first reminder is sent on the 10th day after the end of the loan period.
For material that is intended for reading room use and should have been returned by the user by the end of the lending day, a reminder is sent on the following day. - How do I extend the loan period?
Members can extend the loan period for borrowed material in four ways:
-by visiting the library,
-by telephone +386 1 580 55 83,
-by e-mail at: knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si,
-via the on-line application “My Library” (a username and password are required).
- How do I obtain a username and password for the on-line application “My Library”?
You obtain a username and password at the library or by e-mail. - Can I reserve material?
Yes. Material can be reserved in the on-line application “My Library”. After receiving a notification at your e-mail address, the material will be waiting for you at the library for 3 working days. - I need material that the Faculty of Public Administration Library does not have. Can it be ordered from another library?
Yes. In the event that you need material offered by another library, it can be ordered through interlibrary loan. You send the order to knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si, with the postscript that you will settle the costs of interlibrary loan. - Can I suggest the purchase of material to the library?
Yes. You can submit your purchase proposal to knjiznica@fu.uni-lj.si. Please provide all the details about the author(s), title, year of publication, publisher etc. - I have lost or damaged the borrowed material. What should I do?
In the event that you lose or damage the material, the copy in question must be replaced. You can purchase the material yourself and settle the costs of processing the material anew or the library can order a new copy (you settle the costs of purchase and the costs of processing the material anew according to the library’s price list).
In the event that the lost or damaged material can no longer be purchased, you pay compensation for the lost copy or turn to the head of the library.
