On March 4, 2026, we organized a conference Sport Beyond the Field: Management, Law and Good Governance, which took place at the Faculty of Public Administration and online.

Sport today is not about competition on the field. It is also a complex global industry shaped by legal frameworks, governance structures, commercial interests and increasingly sophisticated dispute resolution systems. From regulatory frameworks established by international federations to arbitration before the CAS, law plays a crucial role in ensuring that sport remains fair, transparent, and sustainable.

We were very fortunate to be able to host a distinguished group of experts who represent different perspectives within the field of sports law, from academia and arbitration to legal practise and the sports business sector.

Bringing together perspectives from data experts, federation leadership, club management, coaches, and league representatives, the panel highlighted how each level of the sporting ecosystem approaches these issues. From regulatory oversight and league organization to club strategy and the coach’s use of performance data, the conversation provided a comprehensive view of how leadership, collaboration, and innovation contribute to the long-term sustainability and success of sport.
