The programme is provided by the Faculty of Administration and the Faculty of Computer and Information Science.
The study programme was approved by the Expert Council for Higher Education of the Republic of Slovenia with the Decision no. 6033-22/2008/2 on December 9, 2008. Changes of the study programme were approved by the Committee of the University of Ljubljana Senate at its 8th regular session on November 11, 2014.
The study programme is currently in the accreditation extension process. At the 18th session on May 26, 2015, the University of Ljubljana Senate confirmed the proposal of the Undergraduate Studies Committee of University of Ljubljana, the Faculty of Administration, and the Faculty of Computer and Information Science for extending the accreditation of the interdisciplinary university study programme, Administrative Information Science – 1st cycle.
The interdisciplinary university study programme of the Faculty of Administration and the Faculty of Computer and Information Science – Administrative Information Science – allows students to acquire diverse, interdisciplinary knowledge in administration and information science. With such a diverse knowledge, students should have the necessary competencies for an in-depth understanding of administration, governance, and management processes, their critical analysis, and development of information solutions that present a foundation for their better implementation. Programme graduates will be able to develop and maintain comprehensive information solutions, both the information systems as well as the necessary hardware and software. The study programme will thus train modern experts in the field of administrative information science, capable of pursuing a career in public administration, public sector, or enterprise sector at home or anywhere in the European Union.

Candidates with foreign degree qualifications undergo a procedure for recognition of foreign higher education qualifications upon applying for studies. The procedure starts with the candidate’s application for study in the Republic of Slovenia, which is submitted in electronic form on the eVŠ portal. The procedure is run by an authorised person at the university where the candidate applied as their first choice.
Enrolment Conditions
Programme Enrolment Conditions:
A person may enrol in the university study programme Administrative Information Science under the following conditions:
- completed general matura
- completed vocational matura in any secondary school programme and a completed examination in one matura subject (computer science, mathematics, or physics); the chosen subject may not be the same as an already completed subject of vocational matura
- completed any four-year secondary school programme before June 1, 1995
Limited Enrolment Requirements:
In the event of limited enrolment, candidates under points 1) and 3) are selected on the basis of:
- overall grade of general matura or final examination - 60% of points
- overall grade in 3rd and 4th year of study - 40% of points
Candidates under point 2) are selected on the basis of:
- overall grade of vocational matura - 20% of points
- overall grade in 3rd and 4th year of study - 40% of points
- grade of matura subject - 40% of points
Tuition fee
Tuition fee 5.500 € is paid by:
• students of non-EU countries, excluding persons granted international protection, applicants for international protection and persons from countries with which the Republic of Slovenia has concluded a bilateral agreement (Slovenia has concluded bilateral agreements with Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Serbia);
• all students that have already acquired an equivalent degree of education;
• all part-time students.
Administrative costs and compulsory health insurance are not included in the fee. They need to be taken care of before the start of the studies.
All students have additional tuition fee:
- First enrollment in the program: 32 €
- All further enrollments in the senior year in the additional year: € 24
Aim of the Study Programme
The aim of the study programme is to offer students a greater selection of content provided by the faculties. Mobility of students, who will be able to participate in different academic environment, will ensure a higher quality of study, as both faculties endeavour to provide as high a quality of the study programme as possible. With mobility and joint work of students and teachers of partner faculties, the joint study programme introduces an interdisciplinary dimension, thus increasing the value of results of the pedagogic and research and development work, and enhancing graduate employability.

Understanding and capability of analytical assessment in the field of organisation, management, and public finances.
Understanding and capability of critical analysis of administrative and legal organisation and practice in Slovenia and European Union.
Ability to recognise, analyse, and solve problems in the field of administration in the public and private sector.
Ability to analyse, plan, develop, and upgrade information systems and computerise business processes.
Essential competence in the field of computer and information science, which include essential theoretic knowledge, practical know-how, and skills essential for computer and information science.
Understanding and capability of implementing computer and information knowledge in the field of administration in public and private sector, as well as other relevant professional fields.
Ability to independently perform less and more demanding engineering tasks in specific narrow fields, and independently solve specific well-defined tasks in the field of computer and information science.
Essential competence in the field of administrative and information sciences, which allows continuation of study in appropriate second-cycle study programmes.
