- Basic linguistic structures: the present and future times, article, adjectives, pronouns, negation, imperative.
- Basic vocabulary: personal information, description of a person, one’s profession, interests, family. Time, days of the week, seasons. Description of the town.
- Reading and listening comprehension: short adapted and authentic texts in French.
- Oral and written expression: simple spoken and written messages.
- The basics of French and Francophone civilization and culture: geography, Francophonie, habits (holidays), French chanson.
- Europe and european institutions.
Objectives and competences
Students will:
- learn the vocabulary that is used to communicate at a basic level: a description of oneself, family, one’s interests, occupation, environment, etc.,
- understand the basic grammatical structures (eg. present and future times, imperative, article, adjectives and pronouns, numerals, negative form, etc..)
- read and listen to simple adapted and authentic texts in French,
- produce short oral and written messages in French,
- learn the basics of French and Francophone culture and civilization.
- use EU-related vocabulary
Students are able to:
- understand familiar words and most frequently used phrases that relate to them or to their immediate environment,
- understand simple messages,
- communicate in French if the interlocutor is ready to adjust the speed of his speech and help them to express,-
- ask and answer simple questions,
- use simple phrases and sentences to form shorter, mostly descriptive texts
- fill in the form with their personal data
- use media and ICT to find information.
