Welcome Address

Anyone looking for a goal will remain empty, when it will be reached,
but whoever finds a way, will always carry the goal inside.

(Nejc Zaplotnik)

The concern for the development of administrative science and its profession extends to different fields of activity of the society and the State mainly for the purposes of ensuring excellence in performance of its functions and the development of social welfare. Striving for improvements and perfection of oneself is not a goal, but a never completed process. The staff members and participants at the then Higher School of Administration whose path began in 22 November 1956 have already realized that.

After 60 years, we are standing at the point of turning the pages of the book of achievements and we are pleased to learn that the values of our staff members, students and business partners remain the same. We have been assembling the mosaic, piece by piece, which is firmly bound together by its commitment to constant development, quality, cooperation, and partnership.

Over time, we have become a part of the best and the oldest university in Slovenia, University of Ljubljana. We have redesigned and implemented the study programmes with topical subjects, and, through joint efforts, we have erected a building that is still our pride even 17 years after its construction and which offers excellent conditions for participation and creativity. Our status has been changed, and long-standing efforts have been completed worthily with the most prominent international accreditation of our graduate and undergraduate programmes.

The changing environment motivates us every day and we look into the future with optimism. We are confident that, also in the future, we will provide the best knowledge for our students, give useful solutions back to the environment, and as the members of the University of Ljubljana and as a part of a wider international academic environment, we will make key contributions to the development and promotion of science.
In the knowledge lies the power.
